According to our experience, some of the countries are not belong to the 144-hours visa free countries, but if your layover time within 24 hours in Beijing, you still can obtain the visa free for 24 hours. Such as: India, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Norway, Columbia, Malaysia, Ecuador.

2. Restrictions of the 24/144-hour Visa-free Transit

It only applies to passengers who transit through Shanghai airport. The destination and place of departure cannot be the same. (e.g Los Angeles – Shanghai –Los Angeles).

      We arranged tours for Philippine passport holders with the 24 hours visa. But the airport have right to stop you in the airport without any reason. So if you want to be 100% sure, please apply for a visa in advance.

    Hi, we will have a 14H layover in Shanghai from NY then on to the Philippines.We are US citizens, what is the latest on the visa free policy?I tried the site you mentioned for applying on line but it didn’t work.Do we just apply for it when we land in Shanghai?Any tours to take us to Disney?

      Yes, according to visa free policy, you can get the visa free. But we cannot guarantee that. No one can guarantee that. It is up all to the immigration officers. So if you want to be 100% sure, please apply for a visa in Chinese Embassy in advance.

      7 hours is too short to take a tour. And the Philippines is not belongs visa-free countries. Sorry about that!

      Normally, you can get out of airport if your layover in Shanghai within 24 hours. We have some Philippine clients did our layover tours without visas, and some couldn’t. It is up to the immigration officer. If you want 100% guarantee, please apply the visas in Chinese Embassy in advance.
